Peru

In June of 2022, Lane and I traveled to Peru where we took an expedition ski mountaineering course with guide Josh Beckner and SIET. Our team was rounded out with the homie Daniel from Lake Tahoe and support from Sirilo from the local village of Pashpa. We a spent a week getting acclimatized and prepared in the chaotic city of Huaraz, and then another week at our basecamp below Yanapaccha. I learned a ton and had the opportunity to climb and ski four 5000m peaks, two as a part of the guided course and two on our own. We got to experience what are surely some of the most beautiful mountains in the world and I am very grateful for my time in the Cordillera Blanca.
